The 2016 Ken®vention will be held in Chicago, Illinois, at the SHERATON CHICAGO O’HARE AIRPORT HOTEL, from October 6, 2016, through October 8, 2016.

Get ready for a steampunk filled weekend of fun, friendship, dolls and charity as the members of the He’s A Doll! Club are honored to present the 2016 Ken®vention - Ken® Carson’s Wild Wild West!

It’s the late 1800’s, we have come out of the American Civil War, we are going through an industrial revolution, the Victorian era is in full swing and the west is still wild.  Enter a world of science fiction and fantasy set in the American "Wild West"  and 19th-century Victorian era inspired by Steam powered machinery, creativity and imagination. Envision what life would have been like if the modern technologies of our century had been achieved by the people of the 19^th century all employing steam power. The Steampunk genre encompasses not only modern utilitarian objects, but also a unique personal style. The clothes are not strictly Western or Victorian, but include technological gadgets and gears or hints of a more advanced and adventurous life than a typical old West or Victorian citizen likely enjoyed.

Join us for a Western Steampunk convention adventure of a lifetime.  Set in the wild west town of Carson City, this will prove to be full of fun and excitement, gadgets and gizmos and (of course) a souvenir Ken® Doll representing our theme to add to your collection.  A GREAT way to become involved with other Carson City citizens is to browse the 2016 Ken®vention website and Yahoo group (so please join!) In our fifth year, the Ken® doll will accompany 150 conventioneers on this exclusive adventure.  The convention events officially start on Thursday evening withthe Steamboat Gambler Welcome Reception and silent auction, then it's adventures of the Wild West with Showdown in Carson City Dinner Event Friday evening, and finally, Great Steam Locomotive Dinner Event Saturday evening..  We’ve planned fabulous food, souvenirs and fantastic entertainment and events! While in town, mosey over to "The Blacksmith's" Workshops which are fun, informative and Industrious! Test your luck partner in the "The Caboose" Raffle Room.  Showcase your creative side in our "Mechanical Gear" Competition and make sure to join us for our "Outlaws" Live Auction which benefits our 2016 Kenvention Auction Charity Be Like Brit.  The Live Auction will feature items by our inventive designers from around the world. 100% of the proceeds from the Live Auction will be donated to the charity. Shop "The Emporium" room sales and be sure to join us in the evenings at the "Boiler Room Saloon" lounge.

Registration includes: Welcome reception event and two dinners.  With entertainment, activities, access to the raffle room, sales floor, competition room, guest speaker, live auction, silent auction and our late night lounge.  There will be table gifts from the convention, a chance to win centerpiece exclusives and of course, a souvenir Ken® doll.  You also have the option to participate in competition, workshops and the opportunity to be a table host.
